View All Font Characters with This Simple Trick

Are you tired of digging through font character maps or upgraded software just to find the hidden gems in your dingbat fonts? Look no further! With this simple trick, you can easily view all the characters and glyphs that a regular QWERTY keyboard has to offer. No need for additional software or tedious typing - just follow these steps to unlock the full potential of your font.

For instance, I recently used this trick with Smoothie Shop by Emily Spadoni, which includes over 80 frames, doodles, and ornaments. Without this technique, you might not have even noticed that there are hidden catchwords included in the font. And if you're looking for more bonus fonts, take a look at Smoothie Shop Toppings - note the catchwords hiding under the bracket keys.

To view all the characters in a font, simply type every key on your keyboard twice. This may take some time, but it's much faster than opening a file each time you need to access these hidden glyphs. Additionally, typing letters A-Z doesn't always show all the extras - they could be hiding under capital letters, numbers, or punctuation marks.

Sometimes fonts have hidden glyphs, catchwords, doodles, bonuses, extras, or symbols that are difficult to see unless you view all the characters in a character map or font book. But with this trick, you can easily add these glyphs to your Silhouette software.

This technique is particularly helpful for viewing dingbat or clipart fonts, as well as basic fonts - especially those that you download for free. Free fonts often have 'lite' versions and don't include PUA (Private Use Area) glyphs or characters beyond the keyboard characters.
